Beholding Our God at the 2016 Church Ministries Conference

GrandRapids_thumbGRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Regular Baptist Press had the privilege of presenting workshops and displaying products at the Church Ministries Conference held at Calvary Baptist Church March 11 and 12. Hosted by the Grand Rapids Association of Regular Baptist Churches, the conference was organized around the theme “Behold Our God,” with Romans 11:36 as the key verse. Dr. Paul Nyquist, president of Moody Global Ministries, and Dr. Winfred Neely, professor of pastoral studies at Moody Bible Institute, were the keynote speakers. Surrounding the keynote sessions were 100 workshops, covering a wide variety of ministry topics. The conference committee did an outstanding job orchestrating all the details for hundreds of attendees, says Dr. John F. Klem, director of Regular Baptist Press.

GrandRapids_inlineRBP was given the opportunity to contribute four workshops to the conference schedule. Klem made presentations on the skills needed for ministry, how to preach Bible characters, how to wisely tell your story, and how leaders can tell the story of their ministry. The storytelling sessions were by far the best attended and marked with the most enthusiastic participation. Darrell Goemaat, RBP’s photography director, says Klem did a great job connecting his workshop topics with his audience, who provided positive feedback and lively discussion.

RBP had a four-table spread of products on display during the conference. At this time of the year, many ministry leaders are inquiring about RBP’s Cowabunga Farm Vacation Bible School material, reports Klem. Another popular inquiry, he says, relates to curriculum materials for high school students. While manning the display, Goemaat got to see friends from across the country who stopped by the book table. He also spent time doing what he does best, photojournalism.

Ministry meetings like the Church Ministries Conference are mission critical for RBP, says Klem. In these conferences RBP is able to come alongside churches to equip them so they can become stronger. Jack says that it is a privilege “to model the Acts 15:41 role of Paul and Silas, who worked to strengthen the churches they served. RBP stands ready to come alongside you and your ministry in the coming days.”
