Pamela Russell Speaks at Women’s Statehouse Day

PamRussell_inlineINDIANAPOLIS—In her role as national director of Women’s Ministry for the Capitol Commission, Pamela Russell was keynote speaker for Women’s Statehouse Day at the Indiana Statehouse.

“Annually, we set aside a special day for women to come to their capitol and meet their legislators,” Pam explains. “The goal is to fulfill 1 Timothy 2:1–4, which tells us to make praying for our government leaders a priority. Incorporated in the day is a prayer service, and afterwards meeting the legislators over lunch. Our goal is to raise up a great army of women praying for their leaders and thus for God to impact our nation for His glory.”

Pam, who also has two decades of experience in counseling and correctional settings, is author of More than Sobriety: Resources for Biblical Substance Abuse Counseling, Addiction: A Family Affair, and her forthcoming women’s Bible study, Beyond the Ballot: A Call to Pray for Your Nation, soon to be published by Regular Baptist Press.

“What a great day it was!” Pam says of Women’s Statehouse Day. “We had one hundred women in attendance; our Secretary of State, Connie Lawson, was our guest speaker; and all five top statewide elected women participated in prayer. We especially honored the women that work in local government, and the prayer time for them was sweet and appreciated.”
