Duke Crawford, speaker at Camp Fairwood’s Laymen’s Retreat, speaks here at a Men for Christ rally in 2013.

WESTFIELD, Wis.—Camp Fairwood held its 48th Annual Laymen’s Retreat with speaker Duke Crawford, Regular Baptist Press author and pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo.

Over the course of several sessions Sept. 9 and 10, Crawford addressed the theme “No Fear.” Leaders should “fear God, not man,” he says in his book Real Men Lead, “for the fear of God produces victory, but the fear of man leads to defeat.” Crawford is also author of Men at Home and contributed a chapter in The Pastor: A Guide for God’s Faithful Servant. Camp Fairwood says the men were greatly challenged and encouraged by his excellent messages.

Since Crawford graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, where he was awarded Alumnus of the Year in 2008, he has been busy preaching God’s Word and reaching the lost for Christ around the world. He has enjoyed ministering internationally in India, Hong Kong, Haiti, Mexico, Ukraine, Argentina, Malta, and Israel. Along with being a highly sought-after speaker, he is a member of the GARBC Council of Eighteen, is a certified Biblical counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, and has a daily radio program called All Things New.
