Grace Baptist Church Hosts Teacher Training Seminar

HAZELTON, Pa.—“We have not had any teacher training in Northeast Pennsylvania in more than 10 years,” Pastor Ryan Day said as he invited people at Grace Baptist Church to attend a one-day teacher training seminar on Sept 29.

Pointing out that public school teachers receive training every one to two years, he said, “If the public schools value that, then surely we as God’s people ought to be concerned that our teachers are getting good training so that they can do a great job interacting with all the students that we have before us in our classrooms,” referring to the church’s adult, youth, and children’s Sunday School classes, Christian Character Club, and student ministries.

Alan Wilson, US field coordinator for Regular Baptist Press, answered questions during a Q&A session following three workshops: “10 Signs of a Quality Teacher,” “7 Great Aims of Teaching,” and “Teaching Methods That Work.”

Pastor Day reports, “We had a fantastic morning training our Bible teachers. We had 20 participants from Grace Baptist and Iglesia Buenas Nuevas / Good News Church in Hazleton! Great seminar!”
