Big Fish Bay VBS Goes to Africa!

Big Fish Bay VBS kits packed in truck getting ready to be shipped to AfricaARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. Regular Baptist Press donated almost 1,000 Big Fish Bay VBS kits to be used by churches in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. RBP is the publishing ministry of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches.

With the COVID-related shutdowns of 2020, sales of Big Fish Bay VBS materials plummeted. Though this VBS program was offered to churches in 2021, in addition to Wonder World Funfest, hundreds of the 2020 kits sat on warehouse shelves, taking up space needed for the 2022 VBS materials.

In the past, RBP often donated unsold materials, which were then shipped by Regular Baptist International. But this year, an outside ministry was available to pack and ship containers of Big Fish Bay kits, and RBP thought this was a good option, says Loren Olson, RBP’s production director. Meanwhile, Regular Baptist International continues to send materials digitally to partnering associations in the Biblical Baptist Partnership International.

Each RBP VBS kit comes with a director guide and director resources CD set, sample teacher and student materials for every age level (including adult), several kinds of posters (e.g., salvation, verses, lesson visual), a worship CD, a music CD set, gospel tracts and a discipleship book, a variety of novelties, and more. The Big Fish Bay kits will help Ethiopian, Ghanaian, Kenyan, and South African churches take a big step toward holding an exciting and evangelistic VBS.
