Job Title: Graphic Designer

Purpose:  The Graphic Designer is to create visual communications for Christian Education products and services of Regular Baptist Ministries by using various forms of digital and artistic media.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic layout and design for visual communication including print, video and web
  • Make graphic corrections per instructions from editors and art manager
  • Develop prototypes for new and revised products
  • Assign and direct outsourcing of illustrations to various freelance artists
  • Organize and prepare files for output and archiving
  • Collaborate with editorial, graphics and marketing teammates to gather information, plan the workflow and deadlines for projects and meet the intended outcomes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Two or more years professional experience as a desktop graphic designer
  • Familiar with the Mac Pro operating system
  • Experienced in using Adobesuites (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to prioritize, excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Stay current with design concepts and trends
  • Knowledge in publishing industry native and PDF workflow
  • Some experience with website design, podcast production, social media or video creation would be helpful

Working Conditions:

  • One graphic department serving the needs of multiple Regular Baptist Ministries
  • Work with a team of editors, designers and photographer
  • Long hours sitting at a desk, using a computer
  • Individual office, possible telecommuting
  • Receive directives from the Art Manager and team of editors
  • Mac OS, Mojave, graphic workflow and PC Editorial workflow
