David Gunn Presents at Council on Dispensational Hermenuetics

David Gunn_leadCLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.—David Gunn, editorial director of publications for Regular Baptist Press, presented “Two Problem Passages on Israel and the Church for Traditional Dispensationalists” during the Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics, held at Summit University Sept. 16 and 17.

Why Dispensationalism Matters

Related, RBP is offering an adult Sunday School course titled Why Dispensationalism Matters. Dispensationalism is far more than simply a way to organize history or a system of belief. It comes from a careful, literal interpretation of Scripture. This course will help you understand what Dispensationalism is and what it’s not, but most importantly—why it matters. Order your study today at RBPstore.org.

Gunn used Romans 9:6 and Galatians 6:16 to frame his discussion on replacement theology. “He gave a very detailed, comprehensive, theologically accurate analysis of those two problem passages” while remaining “fair to those of other positions,” says Dr. Mike Stallard, dean of Summit’s Baptist Bible Seminary. “Overall, I was pleased with his presentation. He showed the qualities of a PhD student. He is perceptive in using sources. He has a good sense of humor, and he handled the Q&A very well. He handled himself with dignity and grace. I don’t think any of the others looked at him as any less than they are. He is one of us academically speaking.”

The Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics meets annually, serving as a forum for traditional dispensationalists to discuss hermeneutics and related matters.
