Matt Olmstead Named Director of RBP

Regular Baptist Ministries is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Olmstead as director of Regular Baptist Press. He began serving in this role October 31.

Matt, who displays a passion for God’s Word and church music, recognizes the need for high-quality church educational materials, a need that aligns with RBP’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in church music from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, a master of music from Bob Jones University, and a master of divinity from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary.

Leaving employment as a corporate program manager in Dearborn, Michigan, Matt brings proven problem-solving and analytical skills to RBP, along with a wealth of leadership and ministry experience.

In addition to working in the business world, Matt, sometimes concurrently, has enjoyed serving on the pastoral staff of four churches. He was associate pastor of Community Baptist Church, Silver Lake, Wisconsin (where he was ordained), and Monclova Road Baptist Church, Monclova, Ohio; assistant pastor of Grace Baptist Church, River Rouge, Michigan; and pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marysville, Ohio.

In his first three pastoral roles, he led music ministries, developed and taught adult Sunday School curriculum (including topics like Bible study methods, evangelism, and dispensationalism); taught teen Sunday School classes; taught high school Bible at Monclova (Ohio) Christian Academy; and provided Biblical crisis counseling.

“As I served, God grew a burden for the broader preaching and teaching of His Word in the church,” Matt says. In pursuing that burden, he expanded his ministry skills to include pastoral leadership and completed a seminary degree to equip him to serve Christ’s Body in a variety of ways.

Through his well-rounded business and ministry journey, “Matt will be an invaluable asset” to RBP, “contributing not only professional expertise but also a rich and diverse perspective to the organization’s success,” says Kerry Watkins, HR director for Regular Baptist Ministries.

Matt says he is “truly humbled” by the opportunity of “serving Baptist churches with the production of good, solid, and Biblical resources.”

“I am very much looking forward to what God has in store,” Matt says. “God is good.”
