The Strong Students scope and sequence is designed around the seven teaching aims Jesus modeled in His ministry. Since these are His aims, teachers can be confident in the aims’ effectiveness and purpose. Every lesson in the Strong Students scope and sequence addresses at least one of Jesus’ teaching aims.
Every lesson also addresses students’ needs. Teaching the Bible to today’s teens is a challenge because of four barriers culture has pushed on them:
- Struggles with identity
- Subjective view of truth
- Hope in a social utopia
- Belief that a career and wealth guarantee happiness
Strong Students strikes at the foundation of these cultural barriers and provides a Biblical response to each one. Each Strong Students lesson includes an opportunity for your teens to measure their lives against God’s truth and learn to grow stronger. In addition, this new curriculum connects the classroom with the home through a resource that directly involves parents and helps them measure their teens’ spiritual growth.

No curriculum would be complete without showing students the eternal impact of trusting Christ and following Him. Strong Students is forward focused to remind teens that the decisions they make now will affect them for eternity. Students will learn not only about the gospel and its implications for their lives today but also about the end times and how the students themselves fit into God’s end-time plans.
Students will gain a clearer understanding of why their lives are important and why living for Christ today is worthwhile. Instead of waiting to get to Heaven to realize how important it is to glorify God with their lives, students will learn how they can live now in the most glorifying way possible.
